WHERE & WHEN WE HAVE OUR SURF LESSONS
It’s really important to have your lesson on the best possible waves – this makes a huge difference in helping a new surfer do well and have the most fun!
I plan the lesson when we will get the best waves, so the time of our class will vary from day to day, depending upon the conditions such as the tide and the wind.
I will confirm the details of our lesson (e.g. location and time) at least 24 hours before our class, after I’ve checked the latest weather forecasts and surf reports.
We run surf lessons on both weekdays and weekends!
Happy Valley
Happy Valley (known as Happys) is located at Clarke Place Park (along The Esplanade Bulcock Beach), between Kings Beach and Bulcock Beach.
We meet in the big carpark (Clarke Place Park) near the corner of Esplanade Bulcock Beach and Ian Street.
NOT at the other end of the carpark near the playground, coffee van and amenities block.
I will be there in my white van, and I try to park near the phone box with the pink roof at the Kings Beach end of the carpark.
The stairs down to the beach are Beach Access 293.
This is a popular spot and the carpark can be busy, so please allow some time to find a park.

Dicky Beach
Bell Street
We meet down the beach end of Bell St Dicky Beach. This is the street just 50m north of the Dicky Beach Surf Club. It’s Beach Access 263. We will be there in our white van. There isn’t a toilet/amenity block here.
Carpark/Skate Bowl
We meet in the big carpark opposite the Dicky Beach shops and near the Dicky Beach Family Holiday Park (caravan park).
It’s down the beach end of Beerburrum St Dicky Beach, near the corner where it bends to become Elizabeth St. We will be there in our white van. There is a toilet block here.

Currimundi Beach (4551)
(See our Google Map)
1 Robe Street, Currimundi
This is where I’ve been doing lessons lately. This beach is about an 8 minute drive north from the centre of Caloundra (Bulcock Street area). Currimundi Beach is the next beach to the north of Dicky Beach. I like this location because it’s not as busy as the main beaches around Caloundra, so the waves aren’t as crowded, and parking is (usually) easier to find.
Robe Street runs off Currimundi Road, which leads to Currimundi Lake, a lovely spot to relax dotted with a few cafes, shops and toilets.
We meet for our surf lesson at 1 Robe Street at the corner of Watson Street. This is where to find Beach Access 256 (about 300m south of Currimundi Lake).
I will meet you there at my white van parked on the street. Please contact me on 0413 381 010 if you have any questions. See you there! Cheers, John.
Currimundi Beach
Currimundi (Corner of Robe St and Watson Street)
We meet in the carpark at the beach end of ROBE STREET, CURRIMUNDI (at the corner of Robe Street and Watson Street). It’s Beach Access 256, and is about 300m south of Currimundi Lake. (Robe Street runs off Currimundi Road). We will be there in our white van.
